Meet Karen,
Co-Designer
Karen Tolbert has an associate degree in interior design and 20 plus years of experience working in the design industry. Although we wish we were all related, we sadly are not. Whomp whomp! However, we like to refer to Karen as our “Design Mom,” because she brings oh so much wisdom to the design table! Karen loves to think about the logistics of design and how pieces will be fabricated or installed. She is always up for solving a complicated brain teaser! Her favorite design style is Mid-Century modern but she enjoys meeting people and working within all styles to meet the client’s aesthetic.

Meet Rebar, Protection K9
Rebar, a thoroughbred European Doberman, was imported from Russia as a professionally trained protection dog for the ladies of JL Studio. The literal meaning of “Rebar” is, “A steel reinforcing rod in concrete.” His name is a metaphor for his strength and solid foundation. He is the JL Studio office dog and often accompanies the JL design team on their construction job-site visits.
